• Aedet Secale - Farmer who recently lost his family in a fire. Has a pact with Nigel.
• Tidev Bouillerathun - Baker from a rich family (Hot springs and water purification empire) trying to get his bakery, Tidev's Tinder and Soot, off the ground.
• The Queen - Trying to find the Entity. Has lost her "cane" (staff) recently. Was using the crystal in the staff to change the memories of the city's inhabitants and to search for the Entity in foreign lands. Took over Kain's Atoll two years ago, but everyone believes she's reigned for over a hundred years. Grew up in Gonetown and was the village doctor until she met the Entity there.
• Jack - The Royal Scientist. Is currently demonstrating the Crystal's powers to the gods. Used the Entity's heart to make the crystal, but isn't planning on telling the Queen this. Befriended the Queen when she was locked up after trying to free the Entity. Pretty much using the Queen to demo the crystal before disposing of her.
• The Eastern King/The Jan's Port Knight - Visiting from the Eastern City (Yondekaicys). Knows something is wrong with the Queen and is trying to destabilize the city so that EC can take it over again. Hid the Entity under the castle afterthe Queen tried to free it in the fish market.
• Doc - Heir to the throne of Kain's Atoll. Created the Guild with PW when they were classmates at Ilan. Overthrown by the Queen and Jack, imprisoned in Gonetown. Never lost his memory of the Queen, but couldn't contact PW until Aesop stepped in to help.
• Banshee 1 - looks like Aedet's childhood imaginary friend. has a crush on Tidev. performs at the Osteal Swindler

• Stripington Pantalon - Cashier at Tidev's Tinder and Soot. Wanted to be in the Royal Guard. Close with Ye-Seo and uses her lab aboard the Marianna for Understream soil analysis.
• Andrivev Picklepopper - Member of the Royal Guard and former classmate of Tidev's
• Anton Deguire - Student at Ilan (school), later chosen by Jack to replace Ye-Seo as main lab assistant. (**perhaps becomes the old man of the sea?)
• Archie the Insurance Cherub - trapped in a crossword puzzle by Yaga Baba
• Gyull/Wys/Yaga Baba/Inmate Y4G4 - God of health, birth, plant medicine, purity, alchemy, acid. Occasionally comes into the city to run the circus.
• The Entity/The sludge lady/Yobbe's daughter - lives in a black sludge river under the castle. Forsook society when the God Slaughterer killed her father--ended up drowning herself in his chest cavity where the new gods tore his heart out. Met the Queen back when she was living in Gonetown. Drew the attention of the King (Doc's father) and was captured. JPK later hid her under the castle in the river area until Jack found her and took *her* heart to make the Crystal.
• Bilge - A Guild member. Goth, lanky, besties with Rasheed.
• Rasheed - A Guild member. incredibly social and outgoing, besties with Bilge.
• Bartholomew the Octapus - Founder and owner of the Bartholomew (theater). Freed from the circus jails by the players.
• The pile of clothes and the Eastern Diamondback snake - freed from the circus jails by the players.
• Walther (in dog form) - A Guild member.
